Roller Skating is trendy again…cool!!
Over the last 12 months search engine activity for roller skating has caught up to and over taken its younger brother “roller blading”: which suggests that the skating trend that began in the 70’s is back in a big way.
Roller skating from a fitness point of view is an awesome activity…your calves will love you for purchasing a pair and climbing the hills around your neighborhood. Using the toe brake will give you a nice little workout (Especially the meaty area of your calf called the Gastrocnemius…burn baby burn!!).
The more you skate the more fat you’ll burn. Roller skating is fun and back in style
How many Calories do you burn during sex?

Written by Robert S. Wieder and found at calorielab, this is one of the funniest things relating to health & fitness I’ve read online for awhile….“Calories Burned during sex”
A particular favorite of mine is the “Extra Emotional Calories” you burn from sex that leaves you feeling…well…dirty ( 17 calories) , Guilty ( 12 calories) or Disorientated (20 calories..LOL)
If you have a spare few minutes do yourself a favor and read Roberts research……after all…laughter can burn calories too.
Mum’s &Tummy Tucks:How to tell the Kids

Every now and then you come across something that makes you go…WTF…..and this news article certainly did that when we stumbled across it today.
A Florida plastic surgeon has written the first known picture book aimed at 4-7 year-olds that seeks to reassure them about mom going under the knife.
Yikes….I had no idea this was a problem that needed addressing…..maybe it does?
Thoughts anyone?
Madonna’s Body - The Impossible Dream?
April 7, 2008 by Kel · 3 Comments

Madonna looks great; she’s almost fifty and showing no signs of slowing down or aging.
But has she set the bar a little too high for the average woman? Can you seriously achieve her results in the real world?
Let’s look at the facts – Madonna’s estimate wealth is around $850 million….now, you can buy a lot of help with that sort of money.
Think about your day for a moment. If you’re a mother you’re up early making breakfast, preparing lunches, dressing children, dropping them off to school, heading off to work, coming home cooking dinner, getting kids ready and off to bed, catching up on house work…..there’s a lot going on…which doesn’t leave a lot of time for sculpting your body into a Madonna clone.
Madonna can and does get a lot of help, which leaves heaps of room in her busy schedule for workouts. You could bank on the fact that she would have chef to prepare her food, Nannies, Nutritionists and a personal trainer on call….she even brought a $12 million home because it was right next to the fitness centre she goes to.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not “Knocking Madonna” by any means, I am simply saying that it is unrealistic for the everyday person to expect to achieve a physique like hers.
Nintendo’s Wii Fit – Video tones the joystick star!
April 3, 2008 by Kel · 3 Comments

I’ve been meaning to blog about this since I saw Nintendo’s new “Wii Fit” advertised on a billboard a few weeks ago.
If you haven’t heard about Wii Fit, it’s essentially a video game that incorporates exercise in four major categories:
- Aerobic exercise
- Muscle Conditioning
- Yoga Poses
- Balance Games
Wii Fit managed to sell over a quarter of a million copies in it’s first week…..which at $70 a pop is a lot of dosh….but is it worth the ticket price?
I should say right off the bat that by no means is this post a review of Wii Fit, It is simply a comment on the idea of having a video game that encourages children to exercise. I love it.
Mum and Dads if you’re going to buy a video game for your child this year that could improve their health…this could be it.
Losing Weight Britney Style

You simply wind the clock back 4 years or so and choose a picture from shall we say - “Better Days”
The Huffington Post have broken the story today that exposes the OK magazine’s dirty little trick. Disappointed? Read more
