Did you know that by just moving your jaw up & down you can burn up to 46kj per hour?
Of course it goes without saying that if you’re moving your jaw up and down on a greasy old hamburger the energy you burn making that chewing motion will be undone by the excess calories you consume….a shame I know…but life isn’t always fair.
So the next time you’re feeling hungry, why not try reaching for some sugar free chewing gum before you raid the vending machine for that horrible sugary snack……remember “chew chew chew….and you’ll burn loads of kilojoules, joules, joules”
Speaking of snacks…..here are 5 bite sized Nutritional Snacks that will keep the hunger pains at bay and the weight off your hips:
- Licorice - There is Some research to suggest that licorice can help reduce appetite…cool, just stay away from the red and go black and don’t over do it.
- Fat free yogurt - Once again there is some research that suggests that diary calcium assists in weight loss…
- Quick Oats - More filling than other breakfast cereals, Quick Oats will keep you powering through your morning and away from your emergency chocolate supply.
- Water - Feeling Hungry? Reach for a glass of water…you need to drink 8 glasses a day anyway so why not try a glass next time you feel peckish….the results may surprise you.
- An Apple a day keeps the muffin top at bay - Increase your daily fruit and veggy intake and watch the weight fall off. You should be aiming for 2 serves of fruit and 5 to 8 serves of vegies per day.
